Herding Dogs. Border
Collie sheep herding Dogs have been at Psalm 23 Camp since 1985. They
are very valuable in the day to day sheep operation since they are so
effective at herding the sheep flock under the direction of the shepherd.
They have often been used for teaching Christian principles in writings
found elsewhere at this web site. (Sheep
Tracks). Sport and a younger dog Duke are currently the herding
dogs at the camp. They are kept in the kennel except for periods of work.
Guard Dogs. Great
Pyrenees dogs first arrived at Psalm 23 Camp in January 2002. Bo and Peep
are the two guard dogs on the farm. These dogs live with the sheep and
keep predators from coming into the flock. They are a very valuable asset
since sheep are easily harmed or killed by wild dogs and coyotes.
